On January 13th, the European Parliament will host a significant dialogue on European and global security featuring NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Scheduled from 16:00 to 17:15 CET, the meeting will take place at the ANTALL 2Q2 in Brussels and will be accessible via the European Parliament's webstreaming services.

The assembly will bring together key figures from the European legislative body, including members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Subcommittee on Security and Defence, and the Delegation for Relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

The discussions are set against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing aggressive military actions in Ukraine, coupled with the geopolitical shifts associated with the incoming United States administration.

Central to the agenda are strategies to bolster NATO's defence and deterrence capabilities, alongside the provision of military assistance to Ukraine.

As the conflict in Ukraine persists, NATO's role in supporting European defence efforts remains a focal point for the Member of the European Parliament (MEPs).
